NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THESE WORKS OF ART.
4th Grade learned about taxidermy. We looked at the secret art of Dr. Seuss, Theodor
Geisel Seuss. He created faux taxidermy of imaginary creatures. Students chose to create an endangered animal to build more awareness
regarding the animal's plight. Other students created an imaginary
animal. Students used recycled materials to create the armature and then
used paper mache to cover their sculpted "trophy" heads. Children painted them
and then cut out a cardboard backing to create their faux taxidermy
trophy.
